Ilze is originally from Cape Town, SA. She was inspired by the work of Vidaal Sasoon, particularly his clean, geometric, contrasting cuts that set him apart from other hairdressers. Ilze began her career in hairdressing in 2002, training with Vidaal Sasoon, and has loved every aspect of the industry for the past 20 years.
Ilze is an incredibly passionate hairdresser. She believes that doing what you enjoy is important. Hair dressing brings her joy and fulfilment while also keeping her motivated. Ilze enjoys learning new things, which is why she went beyond hairdressing to become a hair educator and master hair color technician. She has travelled the world taking hair courses and learning about different hair types and personalities.
She believes that everyone is unique and uses her talents to highlight your best features. She genuinely cares about what her clients want and strives to give them a memorable experience. She is compassionate and understanding, and she enjoys getting to know her clients. You’ll feel as if you’ve found a true friend in Ilze.
Color is Ilze’s specialty, but she cherishes doing Blondes! Ash, platinum, strawberry, ice; Ilze can conjure any blonde tone you like. She has left us in awe many times with her color techniques and knowledge.
Ilze has worked and trained with top industry brands like Vidaal Sasoon, Schwarzkopf, Davines, Wella, Kevin Murphy, TIGI, Joico, MUK and Alilon to name a few. With her passion and wide range of knowledge in hair, you’ll always feel you’re in safe hands with Ilze.
Her thoughts about the hair industry and her work – “You should not be doing it, just to do it. You really have to love it” – Ilze.
On her days off, Ilze enjoys going to the beach and getting a tan.
