Cutting Director
As Cutting Director of Glow Salon, Jihee’s role is educating the hair team with monthly in-house training classes – working on various advanced cutting techniques, especially concentrating on precision haircuts – how to create geometric, asymmetric haircuts, and inspire the team to use their creative mind and express in through hair in a wearable way.
Jihee is also involved in haircutting on any creative photo shoot and events with the Creative Team. “My inspiration comes from meeting people who are artistic with amazing skills and knowledge, passionate and great fashion sense.
One of these people in particular is Creative Art Director of Vidal Sassoon, Traci Sakosits. She is a great educator who clearly knows how to inspire people in every possible way, without even looking like its an effort. I hope to be like her one day. I get excited when I get to create haircuts by just using my own creativity. When I have an opportunity to express my creativity and get great result on clients or photo shoots it reminds me once again why I have a passion for being a hairstylist.”
Jihee has had intensive training with Vidal Sassoon, and it has made her skill for precision cutting very strong. She has also trained with Toni&Guy, Aveda, Wella, L’Oreal, and Paul Mitchell. She has attended one of the biggest hair shows in America, Canada and Germany; has worked with high fashion magazines and for photo shoots with Vogue, W, Numero, Cosmopolitan, Allure, Elle and many more in South Korea. Also worked with several Korean celebrities. “Being part of the creative team is a special treat for me. I love the fact that the team members each have individual strong points in different skills and a creative mind so we can learn from each other and share. I enjoy working with them because they are all incredibly passionate about what they do and create something amazing and always know how to have fun with it. We always try to encourage each other to try something new. I hope to learn more to work together as a team and bring the best and more out of each other and help each other to grow in many ways. And I hope we can inspire a lot of people around us and help Glow to grow even bigger.”
